Ranch horses aren't trick ponies. You're allowed to use your hand. Cody Crow of No Where But UP Performance Horses shows where the line sits, demonstrating a back, a stop and a square turn at both a moderate amount of rein and a hand-on-your-chest amount, and explaining why judges will credit one and zero the other. From there he moves to the fix: using inside leg to hold a horse up through a turn instead of dragging him around it, and showing how a balanced corner at the top of the pen is what makes the straight line straight — and the lead change at the end of it good.
